| For its size, Port Townsend probably has
more diversity than most tiny towns you'll stumble upon. As a result, it's a very
accepting community. There are many gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses. And in any
given venue, you're likely to see examples of happy, healthy un-het activity -- for
example, it's not uncommon to see a variety of gender unions represented on the
dancefloors of the local pubs. Nor will it draw gasps from onlookers if you hold your
sweetie's hand in public, or give him or her a kiss in a restaurant or sweet shop. Throughout
the years since Gudlife's first incarnation way back in the 20th Century, there have been
several one-time and also ongoing events during which we all cut loose and have a good
time as a community. I post these events via the Gudlife emailing list as they are
submitted to me. I also list any other events or projects involving our "rainbow
family" members -- bake sales, garage sales, art exhibits, theatrical performances,
you-name-its -- so we can all take part and be supportive. I also post introductions
from those who are new to the community, just to break the ice and get the social juices
flowing.
Anything else you need to know? Would you like to be included on the Gudlife emailing
list? Just let me know -- I'd love to hear from you!
